When I first went vegan, one of the main pieces of advice that kept cropping up was to make sure I supplemented Vitamin B12 and Omega-3. And, keen to ensure my long-term health didn’t suffer, so began my quest to find a decent vegan multivitamin.

After trying plenty of different supplements over the last couple of years, it’s safe to say it’s been a learning curve! So what did I think of this popular plant-based brand? After testing them myself, I’m ready to give you my honest Vegan Vitality review.

Review Summary

Having tried many vegan supplements, I believe Vegan Vitality to be the best beginner and budget-friendly brand. Incorporating their multivitamin and Omega-3 into my daily routine has been super simple. I know I’m meeting my nutritional needs – without breaking the bank.

Vegan Vitality Overall Rating

What Supplements Should I Be Taking as a Vegan?

Alongside a plant-based diet based around healthy whole foods, as a vegan, you’ll want to pay particular attention to make sure you’ve got the following nutrients covered:

  • Vitamin B12
  • Vitamin D3
  • Omega-3
  • Iron
  • Calcium
  • Zinc
  • Selenium
  • Iodine

Although it’s tempting to just purchase a one-size-fits-all vegan multivitamin, it’s worth noting that most multivitamins don’t contain Omega-3. This is because it’s tricky to combine dry and oily ingredients, with plant-based Omega-3 typically coming in the form of algae oil.

Unless you have any underlying health conditions, I’d therefore recommend Vegan Vitality’s Multivitamin and Omega-3, which you can purchase with their Vegan Essentials bundle.

Vegan Vitality do sell other supplements, like their recently launched Ashwagandha for stress reduction, sleep improvement and anxiety relief. If you have any specific needs, then you might want to look into these more targeted solutions.

However, if you’re just looking to cover your basic nutritional needs as a vegan, then their multivitamin and Omega-3 will more than suffice. 👍

If you’re a new or established vegan and you want to put your long-term health on autopilot (without spending a small monthly fortune), then my best recommendation would be to Subscribe & Save with Vegan Vitality’s Essentials 6-Month Saver Bundle.

Although at first glance it might seem a little pricey, this will give you half a year’s supply of vegan supplements that cover all the vital nutrients you run the risk of being deficient in. This works out at a bargain £7.33 per month (or £6.23 using my discount code), and just over 20p per serving.

If you already have your Omega-3 covered, then Vegan Vitality’s high-strength multivitamin is a solid choice for vegans due to its specially formulated blend of essential nutrients. It’s also free from common allergens and GMO substances.

When I first saw the dark brown tablets, I was a bit thrown off because I’ve become accustomed to a capsule format. But after a month of taking these, I actually prefer the tablets now! They’re about the same size as paracetamol and much smaller than the capsules I’m used to.

They’ll never compete with a brand like Vegums on taste, but on the plus side, I didn’t have any issues with the smell or flavour (it’s mildly savoury with no algae-ish aftertaste).

Vegan Vitality Omega-3 Algae Oil

  • General: 180 soft gels | 1 per day
  • What it covers: Omega-3 (400mg DHA per serving)
  • Price from: £11.99 for a 2-month supply (with subscription) = £5.99 per month / 20p per serving
  • Get 20% off when you Subscribe & Save
  • Get an additional 15% off all orders with code INTENTIONALVIEW

I’ve written more on the topic of Omega-3 over here, so head on over if you want a better understanding of its importance.

I’ve been using Vegan Vitality’s Omega-3 Algae Oil for a while now, and I’m impressed! Containing 400mg DHA per capsule, these soft gels will keep your brain functioning properly and look after your long-term health.

They’re a long, thin shape, so are easy enough to swallow, and there’s no fishy aftertaste. Because they’re made from algae, it also means there’s no risk of contamination from heavy metals or other nasties you might find in fish oil.

One bottle lasts for two months, so they’re excellent value for money.

Why Buy Vegan Vitality Over Other Brands?

Caters for the specific nutritional needs of vegans

While Vegan Vitality state that their supplements are suitable for everyone, they stand out because they cater to the unique nutritional needs of vegans and vegetarians. Their specialised multivitamins and minerals ensure optimal nutrition for plant-based diets, which other more generic multivitamins won’t provide.

GMO-free & highly bioavailable ingredients

In an industry where supplements are often full of binders, fillers, and empty promises, Vegan Vitality are doing things a little differently. Their supplements are proudly free from all animal products, GMOs, and other common allergens like sugar, gluten, wheat, nuts, soy, and eggs. They also opt for highly bioavailable ingredients. For example, they specifically choose to use Methylcobalamin, the most bioavailable form of B12.

Easy to incorporate into your daily routine

What I found particularly refreshing about Vegan Vitality is how easy their supplements have been to incorporate into my morning routine. If you’ve never taken supplements before, I’d say that getting into the habit of taking them is really half the battle! From my experience, if it isn’t ridiculously easy, I probably won’t do it. So the fact that I only have to remember to take two pills a day helps me stay accountable to my health goals.

Amazing value for a 6-month supply

Going vegan on a budget can already feel challenging. And, if you’re not careful, you can end up spending an arm and a leg on supplements. Although there can be significant differences in quality among various brands, a higher price doesn’t necessarily guarantee a better product. For a multivitamin that covers all bases and a quality Omega-3 containing 400mg DHA, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a more reasonably priced brand that adequately addresses your nutritional needs as a vegan.

What Didn't I Like About Vegan Vitality?

It comes in plastic packaging

One niggle about Vegan Vitality is their packaging. Currently, their Multivitamin and Omega-3 come in plastic packaging, which isn’t the most environmentally friendly option. There are other brands offering more sustainable packaging, such as biodegradable or refillable options. Vegan Vitality’s collagen supplements already come in recyclable paper packaging, so it would be great to see this conscious approach implemented across the full product range. Hopefully, something that’s in the pipeline! 🤞

No EPA in Omega-3

Another thing I noticed about Vegan Vitality’s Omega-3 supplement is the absence of EPA. Previously, their formula included both EPA and DHA, but it has been updated to contain only DHA. Now, DHA is arguably the most important form of Omega-3 to prioritise, because you’re probably getting enough EPA if you’re eating a healthy plant-based diet – so for me, this isn’t too much of an issue. But it’s something to bear in mind.

My Final Verdict

Keep in mind that supplements are designed to support your long-term health rather than provide quick fixes or replace a well-rounded diet. While immediate results may not be noticeable, prioritising your nutritional needs is essential for overall well-being.

Despite minor drawbacks like plastic packaging and the absence of EPA in their Omega-3 supplement, Vegan Vitality stand out as a dependable and cost-efficient option for vegans looking to address their nutritional requirements effectively. By consciously integrating their supplements into your daily routine, you’ll be making a valuable investment in your long-term health, ensuring that your body gets the essential nutrients it needs to support you. 🌱

Where Can You Buy Vegan Vitality?

You can purchase Vegan Vitality directly from their website, which is what I’d suggest, because then you can make the most of their Essential Saver Bundle and use my handy 15% discount code (don’t say I don’t treat you!).

Alternatively, if you prefer the convenience of Amazon, you can purchase there – plus have a read of all their amazing reviews:

“I chose these because they have significantly higher doses of the most important vitamins and minerals within than many, and have been pleased to find they are are not horse pill sized but a solid tablet that is more like a paracetamol size. This makes me much more comfortable and thus more likely to take them daily.”
– A Dabrowski

“Going vegan only a year ago I have always highly been into my multivitamins and minerals… This product is a vegan source [of DHA] and is great value. There is no after taste. It’s easy to swallow and the ingredients seem to be quality. I would recommended these to anyone who wants to ensure they have great brain health and general health.”
– Grant Long

“I’ve been a vegetarian for 20 years and have historically suffered from vitamin deficiencies. I’ve been using this product for over a year however, and regular blood tests place me within healthy markers on all counts. Top notch product, and I can definitely ‘feel’ when I haven’t taken them.”
